when i pass a couple on the street,
sometimes i glance at them to spot
that glimmer of male resentment
on his face. but really, what i see
in his narrowed eyes looking back
is insecurity. and then i wonder
what would happen if i were
a woman.

Some good food for thought. Sometimes, it’s hard to hide what we feel, especially insecurity.

Well, insecurity is not something we should hide, it’s something we should work on. I would recommend reading two books by feminist author Susan Faludi, “Stiffed: The Betrayal of Modern Man” and “Backlash: The Undeclared War Against Women”, which reminds me that it’s been a while since I myself have read them, so it’s probably a good time to reread them.
